Accounting – The Finance Department manages the accounting and financial preparation functions for the City; maintains the payroll system with checks issued bi-monthly; processes monthly miscellaneous accounts receivable and utility billings; processes annual Local Improvement Districts billings; maintains a monthly statement of revenue and expenditures to all departments and other reports as requested. The Finance staff prepares the Financial Annual Report and the City of Toppenish Annual Budget for publication.

Business License – To comply with Washington State Law, Chapter 19.02 RCW, providing for a centralized, “one-stop” process for business licensing known as the Business Licensing Service, the City has partnered with the State of Washington Department of Revenue. All business licenses are purchased online with Business Licensing Service. Or, if you prefer you can visit the Yakima Department of Revenue Office or call (509) 454-5160 with questions.

Utility Customer Service – The Finance Department is responsible for the collection and recording of all City funds. These include payments for the cemetery, Local Improvements Districts, utilities, and miscellaneous accounts receivables. The staff assists customers with inquiries pertaining to their accounts, questions, and complaints.
